Hillary Clinton’s one -on -one mentorship session with renowned designer Ayisha Ayensu.
Ayisha Ayensu is the Founder and Creative Director behind the renowned fashion brand Christie Brown. The brand was established in March 2008 and has grown to become one of the most sought after fashion brands in Ghana and beyond. Her exceptional and unique way of making beautiful designs, women wear and aesthetics has won her many accolades including; The Only Ghanaian label to be selected to be a part of the Arise L’Afrique -á-Porter in Paris during the Paris Fashion Week in 2010, Best Fashion Designer -Africa Prestigious Awards 2018 , African Designer of the Year – Glitz Style Awards in 2018 and 2019 among other deserving awards.
On the International Women’s Day Forbes 30/50 Sumit, Ayisha Ayensu was in a one-on -one interview with Hillary Clinton; the Former US Secretary of State. In the session, the latter elucidated her passion to make clothes that inspires women to be courageous and also take up leardership positions.
” I am creating pieces that make women bold enough to step out and take positions of leadership.” she said.
The Former US Secretary of State was impressed with the idea .”I think it is an important idea” ,she said. She admonished the Ghanaian designer to look for people or individuals we are equally passionate about her plans and ideas and also put down a vision idea that will direct her.
