ADWALAH is an upcoming Ghanaian fashion brand led by a team of 3 college mates. The brand debuted in 2015 with the Sui Genesis Collection, which was crafted mainly with the tie and dye fabric from the Global Mama’s women’s cooperative based in Ghana.

This time the women behind the brand have turned their focus to environmental sustainability and have fashioned their second collection from old curtains. This collection was debuted at the just ended Malawi Fashion week, held on the 24th of June in Lilongwe at the Golden Peacock Hotel.

The collection of upcycled curtains features skirts, tops, dresses and a kimono. The pieces showcased are loose fitted and in the easy -elegant style that the brand embodies. These one-off pieces are dedicated to the elegant women who patronize the brand, but also serve as a point of awareness on the effects fashion has on our environment.

My blog puts African fashion on the world map, from promoting look books of fashion brands, interviewing designers, models and other fashion entrepreneurs to covering two of the biggest fashion weeks in Accra- the Glitz Africa Fashion Week and Ghana Fashion week.
