This is my first of many product reviews to come and I hope you enjoy it.
I am not a fan of following one particular skin care regime or using one particular skin care product. But as cliché as it sounds, drastic measures call for drastic decisions.
Now my story, in December I got a new skin care product that I thought would help moisturize my skin considering the weather by then, little did I know that particular product wouldn’t suit my skin? Am not light skinned I must add, but everyone started complaining about how my skin shade was getting really dull. Took me a while to realize they were right. Quiclky decided to seek help from my friend Bunmi who I will say is an expert when it comes to skin care even though she is not a cosmetologist. She introduced me to Bio oil and explained how it has been working on her skin. Had my doubts, however I took a bold step to buy the product in January and I still apply it regularly? Here is a little information about the product
A specialist skincare oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. It is also effective for aging and dehydrated skin. Bio‑Oil has won 85 skincare awards and has become the No.1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 11 countries since its global launch in 2002.
The Bio‑Oil formulation is a combination of plant extracts and vitamins suspended in an oil base. It contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin Oil™, which changes the formulation’s overall consistency, making it light and non-greasy. This ensures that the goodness contained in the vitamins and plant extracts is easily absorbed.
Solves diverse skin issues such Scars, Stretch marks, uneven skin tone, Aging skin
Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (Calendula Oil)
Lavandula Angustifolia Oil (Lavender Oil)
Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil (Rosemary Oil)
Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil (Chamomile Oil)
Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A)
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)
Oil base and others
Mode of application: Bio‑Oil should be massaged in a circular motion into the scar, twice daily, for a minimum of 3 months. On new scars, Bio‑Oil should be applied only once the wound has healed, and should not be used on broken skin.
Even though Bio oil is non-greasy, I felt it was a little bit too oily for me considering my skin type (oily skin type) however I was in for best results so, had to just over look that factor; though I don’t advise you to do same. It is essential you know your skin type/shade and the type of products to apply on your skin. (I will delve more into skin types later). I started applying it on my face but had to stop because my acne was increasing due to my oily skin. Therefore I shifted the attention on my skin focusing more on my stretch marks, and the areas where I was darkening. First month no results but second month was great, everyone was beginning to see some changes in my skin shade and I was too. Currently in my third month and thinking of getting a new bottle of bio oil, I have officially falling in love <3 with this product.
Using Bio oil requires time and dedication to attain best results and don’t forget its results also varies from one individual to the other…
