In recent years, just like fashion, Ghana has seen the influx of several beauty brands, rise of many makeup artists, skin brands, cosmetology schools and Ghanaian owned makeup brands; and an awards scheme that awards these creative for the work they do. We have successfully built a beauty industry that compliments the clothes made by our designers woven so delicately and intentionally in our African heritage. It is therefore just right that “Beauty in Town” has been launched to give these individuals to tell their stories.
“Running” with the tag line: “Let’s Talk Beauty”, the show which seeks to interview “Makers” of the beauty industry was launched a week ago on YouTube, where it would be showing. The presenters of this adventure are; beauty content creator and You Tuber, Akai Kotei, and Sacha Okoh who is the founder of SOAesthetics makeup and CEO of lifestyle boutique; viva boutique. Both women have a little over ten years’ experience in the beauty industry so they sure will be asking the right questions that answers the many thoughts on the minds of beauty enthusiasts, since its aim is to inform, educate and celebrate the beauty community.
The first episode of the first season was aired three days ago and hosted the founder of Makeup Ghana; Rebecca Donkor. A trailer on their instagram page shows snippets of pre – recorded shows with the likes of Lydia Forson of Kinky Matters, Model, Roselyn Ashkar, Valerie Lawson of CVL and beauty and lifestyle blogger, Jesiscah.
With these interesting personalities gracing the show, it promises to be amazing and I can’t wait for the remaining episodes to roll out!
